Legende · El Sabio
Ernst Friedrich Schneidler’s Legende (Stempel, 1937) is one of the great calligraphic typefaces of the twentieth century. El Sabio begins there — restoring missing alternate capitals and ligatures, and adding variable axes for weight, x-height, and ascender curve.
Outline specimens in Light and Bold weights are in development. The x-height rises as the weight increases — a distinguishing feature that reflects how broad-nib calligraphy naturally behaves under pressure.
