My interest lies in the letterforms of the Middle Ages — beginning with the German Fraktur I grew up around, and reaching backward from there into uncials, runic shapes, and the classical Roman letter. Trained in both music and visual art, I’m drawn to building original display type: not the rice and pasta of Times New Roman and Arial, but the green onions and cumin of the typographic pantry.
