Legende \u00b7 El Sabio<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ernst Friedrich Schneidler’s Legende (Stempel, 1937) is one of the great calligraphic typefaces of the twentieth century. El Sabio begins there \u2014 restoring missing alternate capitals and ligatures, and adding variable axes for weight, x-height, and ascender curve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outline specimens in Light and Bold weights are in development. The x-height rises as the weight increases \u2014 a distinguishing feature that reflects how broad-nib calligraphy naturally behaves under pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
