My interest lies in the letterforms of the Middle Ages \u2014 beginning with the German Fraktur I grew up around, and reaching backward from there into uncials, runic shapes, and the classical Roman letter. Trained in both music and visual art, I’m drawn to building original display type: not the rice and pasta of Times New Roman and Arial, but the green onions and cumin of the typographic pantry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After thirty years in the kitchen, I finally have some starch to offer you \u2014 though not the plain white bread and macaroni kind.
